Cheap Surfboards
Ok newbies, here is the number one rule when learning how to surf: don't get beat up by a brand new surfboard! Pick up a cheap surfboard to use when first learning to surf. Surfing is an awesome sport, but like anything else, you have to learn how to crawl before you can walk. For your first time out in the water, look for a cheap Foam surfboards, also called softboards or "foamies", are designed especially for those first timers out there. Foamies are softer than regular surfboards, and have softer rubber skegs than regular surfboards. These cheap surfboards are usually composed of a foam core, or hollow plastic with solid foam, which makes them very buoyant out there on the water. Foamies are also much longer and have a greater width than a shortboard.
